Difference in text readability? - Blu-ray Forum

I plan to upgrade to a projector & screen in the near future. At the moment I'm using a 65" Toshiba non-HD television, viewed from about 15 feet back. When I tried viewing some of the extras available with BD-Live on the Transformers BD I could barely read the text. I assume the text will be much more readable when I've upgrade to 1080p. Am I correct in this assumption? If not I'm really not impressed with the quality of the BD-Live text.

Yes, text will be more resolvable in 1080p than in 480p. However, remember that at your seating position (assuming you are going to keep that the same when you move to an FP system), you are going to need a screen somewhere in the range of 115" diagonal or greater to be able to see the full resolution benefit:

If you go with a screen smaller than that, you would be best served by sitting a bit closer, per the resolution chart. How close you prefer to sit is an individual preference, but the chart gives you a rough idea of where you should sit to get maximum resolvable benefit from your video set up.
