Hey guys-
Just want to make sure I've got everything set the way it should be. I'm using an Insignia Blu-Ray Player (http://reviews.cnet.com/video-player...tag=mncol;rnav) , and a Sony ss2300 Reciever and speakers. (http://www.testfreaks.com/home-theat...ony-ht-ss2300/) They are connected via a Monster HDMI Cable. On my blu-ray player, the audio menu is set to BD Audio Mode- HD Audio Output HDMI Audio Out- HDMI Multi (LPCM) I haven't adjusted any audio settings on the reciever, because I don't know what to do. When I play a movie, it reads "PCM 48", and I am getting sound from all five speakers and subwoofer. Is this the best sound I can get for this set-up? I'm very happy with how it sounds, but want to make sure it's being pushed as far as it can. ![]() |

Yup.
The player decodes both TrueHD and DTS-HD MA according to the linked page. In order for it to do that you need to have it send it out via LPCM, and it'll just read "PCM" or some variant, which is what you're describing. You have it all set right. ![]() |

One more question- can this set up play PCM 5.1 Uncompressed? Would I need to do anything special, other then selecting it on the blu ray menu?
