Default OK, stupid noob audio question...

I have a Denon 2809 CI and a sony bdps350. I noticed on the back of Hidalgo it says the audio is 48khz/24bit. When I play the Blu-ray and hit display on the Sony s350 I notice it reads out 48khz/16bit. Is my receiver not capable of playing the 24 bit audio? Or is it a limitation in my blu-ray player? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I'll give it a shot, but I think i'm already set to 96k/24bit. I'll check again.

hmm..interesting. I had time to try a couple of discs and they played in 24 bit like they were supposed to. Only Hidalgo wouldn't. I don't understand this stuff enough to know why. I'm wondering if it was a misprint on the label perhaps?

Default Hidalgo plays in 48kHz/16bit instead of 48kHz/24bit

Maybe its a misprint as you suggested. I just popped Hidalgo in my BDP-S550 (Audio Setting set to 96kHz/24bit) and I get "48kHz/16bit" when I press the "Display" button on my remote.

There are more than a few Blu-rays' out with inaccurate audio specs on the jacket. I guess Hidalgo is one of them...

Thanks for verifying that for me. It seems to be the only one in my collection that I can find that does that. It puts my mind at ease a little to know that I don't have anything set up wrong in my theater.
