Wink Quick question (Blu-Ray Resolution)

Hi all

Am new to the forum and new to Blu-Ray so please go easy with me if the answer to these questions are obvious .

I have a PS3 and a Samsung HD TV capable of 1080i output connected with a HDMI cable.

The question which i would like answered is this..... If my HDTV can only support 1080i and i buy Casino Royale or another Blu-ray which can be played in 1080p does the TV or the PS3 just play the Blu-Ray in the highest supported Resolution of the TV ??? in my case 1080i. If not what Res will it play the disk at ??

I have seen on the back of bu-rays the resoloution some say they have been recorded/produced in 720i i presume this means the best quality u can get even if u have 1080i TV is 720i on the playback of these disks ??

Thanks in advance for your time and responses.

Rio
