I stopped buying from amazon.com when the import fees started. Although the import fees have gone away, I still don't shop there because of the exchange rate.

Other than FS and BB, I've bought from Walmart, SiG and a few others. Like a lot of the ppl here, I just keep a lookout for good deals and the odd must have. I've done some trades and bought from other users at this site and over at HDD as well.

If I find that my collection is not growing in the new year, I may sign up with Columbia House. A sure way to increase my collection.

I was a BIG Amazon.com Blu-ray customer (200+ Blu-ray's) but I have stopped ordering any more from them. It is due to the exchange rate. The import fee made it even worse but even with it gone it is still not worth it. As a side note i've taken up Columbia House and will use them for most orders and the ones they don't carry i'll hunt around between Amazon.ca, Best Buy, FS, etc. or just wait a while on particular titles.

I still have some remaining shipments from amazon but are all Blu-rays that I got in the famous 3-for-2 sale a while back.

i don't know, i'm sort of on the edge

i recently went into bestbuy and futureshop on the weekend and besides those $19.99 titles (most of which i already have) there are very slim pickings for cheaper titles

i just went onto amazon.com again for the first time in months and bam! godfather collection is on for $41.99 vs. the bestbuy.ca price of $89.99

even with the exchange rate difference of about 20%...still deals to be had, considering there is no tax for amazon.com

I used to all the time however with our dollar pretty weak, most of the time I just go buy from Walmart, Future or BB. The price is pretty close to amazon with shipping these days.

Only occasionally do I use amazon.com. My last order was the Resident Evil Blu Trilogy for 30.95 US + a couple of gifts/DVD items, so that order was worth it to me. Last I heard, the import fees only apply when you select quicker shipping.

I haven't bought anything from amazon.com since the addition of the import fees and also because of the exchange rate... but at the same period last year, it was another story!

amazon.com must have lost a ton of business just judging by comments I've read in several different forums. Even people who continue to buy are not buying as much (the economy news these days doesn't help).

I am hoping amazon.com or amazon.ca will do something to get those customers back. I for one am waiting for amazon Prime here in Canada. That would definitely be a step in the right direction.

I still buy from amazon.com, since they removed the import fee. The 3 discs of Wall-E and Prince Caspian are still cheaper than at amazon.ca, but yeah the exchange rate isn't that good so I have not purchased as much as I used to.

I don't buy there often, but with the buy more save more deal I bought 10 movies yesterday. I can't be bothered to wait for delivery, but 100$ off if you buy 10 movies is hard to beat. I got the 6 bonds and 4 more movies for 104.79 US$ including shipping. even with the exchange that is a good price.

Not bad, around $13 per movie with shipping included.

I bought Transformers, Iron Man and Rambo 3pack for $47 american with shipping.
Then 3 bonds I was missing for $43 with shipping.

My story is the same as Jimbo's. I bought nearly all my blu-ray's from Amazon.com but between the exchange rate, shipping, import fees (now gone) and the elimination of the post order price guarantee there's very litlle incentive left to order from them.

I've taken up with Columbia House now as well. The wait for titles to ship may be long but it's something I'm used to since I'd consolidate my Amazon shipents to roughly one a month to save a bit on shipping.

I also intend to start dealing with CH, but still waiting for my package, but more importantly, my access to the site. Can't beat the 60% off deal.

I know, even with the good deals this on Friday, I couldn't buy anything knowing that the dollar could keep going down and down. Once it becomes more stable, I will start buying again

The import fee is no longer an issue for regular delivery but the exchange rate does make it more difficult to find great deals. I now ship my orders to a relative in the US and get these sent to me from her (really, Amazon! 10 Blu-Rays cost $35 US in shipping? ).

The current "Buy More, Save More" deal is great if you need the titles offered. I ordered 10 (all 6 Bonds, Man on Fire, Juno, Point Break and Sand Pebbles) for $75.81 US or around $95 CDN after exchange, which at 9.50 per disc beats anything local. It's not too bad even if you decide to ship it to Canada...somewhere around $140 CDN total or $14 per disc.

At this point, I wait for special offers like this and the recent 3 for 2 and just hope that that the dollar will at least climb over 90 cents sometime next year so I can order more frequently.

The majority of my Blu-Rays are via Amazon, shipped to me in Canada after having taken advantage of Bogo's and B2G1's. However, with the dollar dropping, and Amazon's Canadian shipping costs having gone up since when i first starting ordering from them, i cut back and have primarily been ordering from Columbiahouse, and also Futureshop for titles like Kill Bill, Sin City. I did, however, take advantage of the Buy 10, get $100 off offer including the 6 Bond titles. I got the titles shipped to a US mailing address i got set up and the total cost was less than $90 Canadian for 10 titles.
