Default BD-1200 audio CDs

Design Problem:

for copy-protection reasons, you need to have a monitor attached and on to play audio cds through hdmi on the bd-1200. the bd generates a video stream showing the track being played, etc.

two problems, if you turn-off your monitor or switch its input, the bd player kicks-out (this is related to the copy protection). second, if you leave your monitor on to listen to the cd, then the static track info image generated by the sammy will burn-in to you display.

this makes the sammy useless on audio-only content.

I completely agree with jorg on having a dedicated CD player.

However, I did try a CD on my BD-P1200, and while playing the CD, the screensaver does come on after a while. So your TV should be fine if you leave it on.

Default interesting

interesting ...good point counterpoint ..yes a dedicated cd player is good ,though some people try to keep the cleanest least cluttered setup possible hence the use od their dvd player

Guess I'm not getting this complaint.

I have a BD-P1200 connected to a Denon 2807 connected to a Panny plasma, all via HDMI. I can play music CD's, or even the movie soundtrack with the TV off, no problems. Does the player wait some period of time and then turn itself off? I've never listened to a CD for any length of time on this setup as I have a dedicated music setup in another room.

Ken
