Default Wire Management

I have quite an average number of components on my entertainment center http://www.winnersonly.com/view_item.php?c=58&id=865 that are creating a nasty mess of wires behind my system. I know there are a few pics of wires behind people's systems on the home theater photos page but it is huge and those are far less numerous. I was wondering if some people here would not mind posting maybe before and after pics of your wire management and maybe list some of the items you used (cable ties, zip ties, etc.). I want to rearrange my wires to look cleaner and was wanting some pointers. Thanks.

Just an observation.
Thankyou for the imput ! I step over the narrow rug so I'm not steping on the cables themselves . And I live alone so no worries about heavy foot traffic .
No power cables ! Again thank's

I'm not really sure how I would deal with the wires across the door threshold. You can look at something called a cable raceway, a molding with an adhesive backing that the wire(s) a run through.

Sorry I don't have pics of my own set up but that is incredibly helpful. I like how nice and clean the setup looks.

My rear speakers are mounted on the back wall of the house I rent. It is kind of complicated as I rent from my mom so I can do some things but not others. I actually attempted to get up in the attic to find the wall behind my system and while walking through the attic managed to push my foot through the ceiling of the living room (shhh, my mom does not know about this). I hired a guy to come in and fix it and you can't even tell now. Anyway my wire running to the back speakers runs under the carpet which I actually pulled up from the baseboard and then replaced. There is a noticeable bump in the carpet where the wire runs and it does not see heavy foot traffic, but can that hurt my speaker performance? I have not noticed anything but then again by the dimensions of the living room and the requirements of my wife, my speakers are hard to hear unless you really crank them.

I rent also, and when the landlords wanted to recarpet, I stuck around to converse with the carpet dude. He cut a very thin track into the carpet pad, and now there is no visible trace of my rear speaker wires or subwoofer cable.
