Default The Most Incomprehensible Foreign Posters of American Films

Check out Cracked.com's ranking of twenty foreign extremely-baffling posters for American movies from cinema's past. Some of them are truly-odd, indeed.

Is it just me, or does it look like the Predator in the Easy Rider poster?

And the Ghostbusters print is really....out there. It looks like some kind of abstract art print you'd find for sale in an Ikea.

What the hell is wrong with European marketing firms? Honestly. When all of these came out (except for the ones from France and Japan), there was still the Eastern Bloc to deal with, right? Could Soviet control of Eastern Europe have anything to do with it? This is just completely beyond me....

One post said it best on the site there

"glock78To all of you going "OMG!ZOMG! ARE THOSE CZECHS, POLES AND RUSSIANS BLIND? DON'T THEY KNOW WHAT THE MOVIE IS ABOUT? WTF!?"...
Think for a second that all those countries were a part of this little group called Eastern Bloc or Warsaw Pact.
And it was a kind of a obligatory thing in that club to consider ANYTHING coming from the west as evil and/or decadent.
People HAVE been sent to work camps for "decadent behavior" in those countries. Or for just a loose remark or a political joke.
So, if you want to play the latest product from the decadent west and not end up somewhere in the Siberia sewing mittens and eating sawdust soup for the rest of your very short and very cold life - you don't promote the western decadence through the use of poster stands across the land.

Instead, you MASK the actual content of the movie with some abstract art.

If I could somehow find a poster of just one of those! Maybe just exactly as the Warhol. I have a friend that would owe me his life if I got him one.
