Default Updating Yamaha V663 for DENON MODEL

Hey all. Ok i have 3 yamaha RX-V663 receivers. I want to upgrade ONE of them FIRST to see if it's worth it or not. I'm trying to choose between 3 receivers, all 3 being Denon's, just different Model numbers. As far as i can tell from reading their specs. The only differences are in the WATTS & Remotes. N E real differences between them and why one is better?

Choices are: 1909, 2808/9 (what's the difference bet. 2809 & 2808, it doesn't say) & 3808.

Thanks

The main difference is the new Audyssey settings, great improvements over the 2808. I would also consider the 889 or 989, less money than the 2809 and the same features. There also might be a few more connections on the newer models. I have the 1909 and love it, it was kind of an upgrade/downgrade from my Yamaha RX-V2500, mainly for the HDMI and HD/DTS Master audio for my Blu-ray.

How can the 2808, 889 or 989 all have the same features? What's the difference bet. the 2808 and the 2809? I was reading some reviews and i read 2 that stated not to buy a denon if it's not the 2808/9 ci or 3808, not to go lower than those stating quality wise they cannot compare. I still can't find somewhere that tells me what's the difference bet. the 2808 and 2809. U know? Thanks

It's more than just remotes and power. I'm looking into the Denons myself and denon.com has a very thorough "compare" option on their receivers. It's seriously overkill but when trying to decide what the differences are it's very helpful.

The 2809 is almost identical to the 889, and the 3809 is the same as the 989, the main difference is where it will be sold, the 889 you can buy at places like bestbuy, where the 2809 will be in higher end electronics stores, the other main difference is the body of the receiver 2809 is metal the 889 is plastic. Like i said the main difference between the 2808/2809 is the new Audyssey settings in the amp, and i don't know where you read not to go below those models numbers, i can tell you the difference between the 1909 and 2809 is alittle more power and a detachable power cord, other than that they are almost identical.

Yeah i checked it out but i noticed that for the MAIN stuff, they all have it, like video switching, 1080/24 passthrough, true hd/dts mstr audio, 7.1, DAC, those are the main things. THe extra's like on line connectivity, more power, that stuff isn't worth the extra money for me.

So that said, i'm trying to decipher the best in that way.

I read that the 1909 doesn't have the video switch via hdmi like the 2809 and up have. Also thanks, the metal vs plastic makes a difference to me. Because of that alone, i'm debating bet. the 2809 and the 3808.

Yeah i just keep on using difference search engines typing in one model vs the other and that's where i found those 2 reviews about when buying denons, quality wise, it's recommended to go with 3808 and Above.

both are good choices, i was looking at the denon site and the 1909 does the same video switching as the other 2 models via HDMI, but if you have the money to spend i would go with the 3808, that was the one i was looking at but i needed an amp just to get me by until i finish my theatre in the basement, then i will look at a more powerful receiver. If you check the reviews on the 1909 you will be surprised how well that amp scored, but again it's about you can afford, i know to many people that buy receivers with way to many features and options that they will never use and to much power that they don't need, but hey, they have the money to spend and pay me for installing and setting it up for them.
