ProScan? Questions, comments, concerns? - Blu-ray Forum

So my friend just texted me and said he's looking at getting a 46" ProScan LCD...not sure of the model, and not sure where he's looking. What are your thoughts on this brand? I haven't heard much about them at all....and he seems to think I'm some sort of TV genius, so he's waiting on my 'seal of approval'....any thoughts on this are much appreciated.

ProScan is Thompson (RCA)'s 'higher end' line. It never was overly impressive when I sold the CRT's and no more reliable than RCA but the sets were built stronger and heavier. Dunno about now. Haven't heard of them in quite a while.

Pro Scan died years ago, i would pass on that one.

They are still making ProScan hhmmmm???

Thanks for the replies, guys. He said he saw it at some "local" place for like $1k and was really tempted. I just told him to pass on that, and recommended saving his pennies and getting a Samsung
