Default Christies Star Trek Auction - History Channel

Saw some of this yesterday when it was on and decided to record and watch it later. Just got done watching it. Man oh man - all the props, costumes and memorabilia was amazing! It was really cool seeing all the stuff, but on the other had, it was sad to see it is an end of an era. Like they said, Star Trek is something that is ingrained into the imaginations of many. There is really no place you can't go without someone knowing what "beam me up scotty" means, "make it so", "warp speed", etc etc. So very sad.

Spoiler Alert!

[Show spoiler]What was really cool was to see how much the Star Trek Enterprise D went for (the one from Next Generation) - It sold for $500,000.00 dollars! Simply amazing!

Another neat thing was seeing the people there happy and excited to own a piece of television history. Way cool. I am glad Paramount didn't just trash it.

Anyways, I think Star Trek will live on forever for many generations to come. Hopefully one day it may be resurrected and made new/fresh again. Until that day, I will enjoy it on dvd/blu-ray. I guess the reason everyone loved it is because people wanted to really believe it could happen or be real. I know I did. To yearn for something like that to be possible within our lifetimes is simply amazing.

Saw this last night. Pretty interesting stuff how they put it all together. Pretty amazing at the end when they show some of the personal collections people have at their homes. Some of those people have lots of MONEY!

If I had the money I would have wanted the Enterprise A and the DS9 and the Klingon Bird Of Prey models.
