Default Anyone still buying HD DVD's?

Let's say you found a movie in HD DVD and Blu-Ray and you have both players. Specs were the same but the HD DVD was $8. Would you buy the HD DVD version?

I have been all this past week. I got an Integra DHS 8.8 HD-DVD (basically an XA2) for an unbelieveable price. I've been getting all kinds of HD DVD's for $5 or better and they are movie that I want in HD, but I don't really want to spend $20-$25 on the blu-ray for. In these times if I can save a little money and still get good performance, I'm all for it.

It's actually been kind of nice since I have been able to buy some Warner titles that I have been wanting that had better audio on HD DVD (Phantom of the Opera for example).

Why not, it's not affecting the format war anymore, so it doesn't bother me to clean up somebody's inventory of HD DVD's and I save a fist-full of cash in the process.

No, I wouldn't. I'm actually looking to unload my A30 and 25 discs because I haven't used the thing in months.

I'm selling off my HD's as they come out on BD. Eventually, I'm going to have 1 player and don't want to have to deal with worrying about both.

Yeah I still do. I have 2 players one standalone and one on my laptop. So, I still buy them. Most only have Dolby Digital Plus for audio while very few have Dolby TrueHD though.

Probably not.
I would wait for the re-release with a better encode that takes advantage of Blu-ray's capabilities - and better audio.

If it's a movei I wouldn't ordinarly buy / want, but my old lady does, we've been doing the HD-DUD. 360 (xenon) is loud as shit, though. Last two were the School for Scoundrels and Breach.

I've thought about buying The Departed on HD DVD to hang on the wall. Kind of like a trophy.

Seriously though, I see no need since I never bought into it to begin with. Now if the format had hung around a little longer and I was sure players would be available in the future, I might would. But I doubt it.

Trophy of what? Overhyped crappy remakes of Asian flicks?

Just get Matt Damon's head, it would work SO much better.

I agree with that.

What's the point in going out of your way to keep as many players as possible up and running in the house?

And once the HD-DVD player breaks down, you're up a certain creek without a means of locomotion if you know what I mean.

Spending money on HD-DVD now is more of a waste of money than it was DURING the format war.

The 360 add-on is only $30-40 many places. I'm thinking of getting another one to make a laser/light gun that I saw on a DIY forum.

And maybe having a spare for my 360, as well.
