Default Recommended PS3 games.

Okey doke.

I have Resistance: Fall of Man which frankly is awesome! Couldn't recommend it more, I love it and I've just started my second run through as I completed it at the weekend after 17 fun filled hours.

I have Motorstorm, which initially I thought was good but soon became bored with the limited tracks.

Looking to buy more games but want some 100% honest opinions before I lash out £40-£50 on each game.

What you got, what do you recommend and why?

Cheers!

Oblivion.

Its probably the game that warrants spending money more then any other game. Theres easily over 100 hours of gameplay, excluding all the side missions. Read some reviews for it, or check out the trailer on the psn.

If you plan on waiting until June, Im sure Ninja Gaidn Sigma will kick some ass. The demo rocks and really makes me look forward to playing the full game. Its also a remake of arguably one of the original xbox's best game!!!

Oblivion is a lot of fun. I play the PC version so I can use the construction set. I need to fix some of my mods though. My current game is so corrupted right now that my character is permanantly on fire. Very odd.

Anyhow, regardless of platform, Oblivion is a good buy.

I also have Resistance and MotorStorm. I have been eying Oblivion, but I finally jumped into the PS3 from my PS2 thanks to the upcoming games! Burnout looks awesome, and I loved them on PS2. Gran Turismo HD and Final Fantasy 13 are also on my must have list. I may pick up NHL 2K7 for fun until the others come out, especially with its $29.99 price tag.

I tend to read the reviews on any game on ign.com or gamespot.com before forking over any money. I bought one too many terrible PS2 game before learning that lesson.

Really depends what kind of games your into mate!
I also really enjoyed resistance, and prefer MotorStorm online alot more (give that a try before letting it collect dust!)

If your after some decent sports games try Fight Night Round 3, NBA 2K7 or Virtual Tennis 3.

Fight Night is alot of fun and can be hard to master.. it's online modes are good and career is not over in ten minutes. It's also fun to play with your mates.

I've only played NBA2K7 round a friends but if your into basketball i'd say it's the way to go.. using the sixaxis for free throws is fun.

And Virtual Tennis 3 is one of those simple but enjoyable games, check out the PS store for a demo.

So far no other shooting game has matched resistance for me, I had alot of fun completeing F.E.A.R. but it was no match!

Also try getting into Resistance online.

I'm still trying to decide what my next game purchase will be

A sampling of quality games to look forward to:

Burnout Paradise
The Darkness
Devil May Cry 4
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Final Fantasy XIII
Grand Theft Auto IV
Haze
Heavenly Sword
Killzone
Lair
LittleBigPlanet
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Resident Evil 5
Shirokishi Monogatari / White Knight Story
Tekken 6
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Warhawk

I've only played Ninja Gaiden Sigma so can only honestly say that's brilliant but I'd be surprised if many of the rest of these disappointed except maybe Burnout which may still be too samey.

Motorstorm, Resistance, and Oblivion are the only games so far that have been worthy of $60 in my opinion. Those games are a must.

As far as PSN titles go, I would definately pick up Calling all Cars, it is one of the funnest games I have played in a very long time, and it's very easy to pick up and play. Awesome game if you have some buddies over hanging out. I would also get the Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo and Gran Turismo HD demo, they will keep you occupied for a surprisingly long time for only being demos.

Have fun with the system, I personally am looking forward to Rainbow Six: Vegas and Ninja Gaiden Sigma in June. May is a slow month though .

- Oblivion is my #1 after R:FoM.

- As Blu-rayUK mentioned, NBA 2K7 is a very good basketball game. However another hoops option is NBA Street Homecourt which is extremely fun and much faster to pick up and play w/o the learning curve... if you want more arcade style play Homecourt, where 2K7 is more a realistic sim.

- Virtua Fighter 5 is fun and fast-paced.

- Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a game I enjoy to play w/ my son while we team up and beat up bad guys. Graphics are not the best but there are lots of heroes to play and villains to bust.

- I'll be picking up MLB 07 The Show and Lair very soon.

Yall would laugh...

so I wont say Gundam Crossfire...

Ill just go with Oblivion, its fun and its mainstream.

And I do not recommend Genji if you were a fan to it
they mainstreamed it too much, took out all the blood and decapitations
from the original that takes alot of the cool factor out of it.

They took a M rated game and created a sequal
and mainstreamed it into a T game..
For shame... For shame.

just don't buy sonic the hedgehog. steer clear of that piece of garbage. the weapons are pretty slick in resistance the second time around, hey? and if you haven't seen this already, when you finish the game...there is a special video that is added in the collection that actually has the main character speaking...and it's funny.

That was pretty funny. I found it and had no idea what it was.

If you're an F1 fan I would recommend picking up Formula 1 Championship Edition. I don't own it, but I heard that Virtua Fighter 5 is pretty good as well.

On PSN I recommend checking out Calling All Cars and Tekkan 5 (if they ever put it up again).

Cool, cheers.

Oblivion is definitely on my list although there's a bit of a supply chain problem in the UK at the mo - i.e. none. Still, worth the wait by the sounds of it.

I was looking at Fear but if Resistance is better then I'll probably not bother. Can't wait for GTA IV, DIRT and Driver 5!

Hi,

I have Resistance - I enjoyed it, but after a time moved to Call of Duty 3 - mostly due to the fact that is more realistic and have a good online play.

I also have NHL 2k7, good game and if you are a hockey fun, you will enjoy it for a long time.

And finaly, I bought Tiger Woods PGA Golf 2007 and have to say, its realy good.

And of course, I am still enjoying FF12 and MGS 3 for PS2 (but of course, playing it on PS3)

hope I helped

Yes mate, I'm really tempted by Tiggy Woods but I was slightly apprehensive that it would be better than the last PS2 variant of the game - which was really good.

Is it much better?

Tiger Woods is lacking in content and the graphics are pretty poor for a PS3 game.

That's why I've been hesitant. I'll maybe wait for it to come round in the secondhand section of Game.

Cheers mate, late night shopping tonight?

Nope, bagged myself a cheap copy of LocoRoco (£13) from Gameplay.

Check out the Japanese Everybody's Golf 5 demo if you haven't already.
