... Because in the threads I've already looked I couldn't find anything that helped. I have technically tried EVERY single possible solution out there in order to get my controllers to stay synced up permanently with my PS3. I'm talking about DualShock 3 controllers.
PS3 is on stand-by, I power it up, hook up a controller via USB, hit to PS button to get it synced (works) and let it charge all the way up. That's the official way of syncing up a controller. That's how it always used to work for me in the past. Here's the issue: After syncing up, I can remove the USB cable (PS3 is still running) from the controller, then four lights blink for a couple of seconds before it assigns itself to port 1. Good. Now, when I turn off my Ps3, whether it's by pressing down on the power button, PS button (controller) or select Turn Off System in the XMB, I can't turn the PS3 back on by simply hitting the controller's PS button. Four lights just blink for a few moments and then nothing happens. Even after I manually turn on the system, the controller won't be recognized after hitting the PS button. I have to use the USB cable every single time. However, after I've synced up my controller via USB, remove the cable and turn off the controller (system remains running), I can turn the controller back on and it'll sync up just fine. This whole issue only happens after I power down the system. Things I have tried: - Hard power down (system), putting it on stand-by again, then trying to turn it back on with controller wirelessly. - Hard power down (system), putting it on stand-by again, then trying to turn it back on with controller via USB. - Normal power down (going into stand-by), followed by the two actions as listed above. - System reset (system in stand-by, then HOLD down the power button until it bleeps a second time, resetting the system). - Controller reset (by holding down the button on the back of the controller for a few moments). - Hard power down, system reset and controller reset all combined. I also tried all that while the controller was hooked up with the USB cable the whole time. I tried it all wirelessly too. I I've pretty much done so many combinations of all that I've tried. Things I know: - Controller battery is NOT dead (one is brand new). - USB cable works (tried several. It syncs up the controller anyway when the system is on). - System runs fine (no firmware issues, other accessory issues or general system issues). So, now what!... before contacting Sony or doing a system format/restore. |
