When will PS3 get Divx 7 certification? - Blu-ray Forum

I"m not sure that it will. Legal issues could crop up. I mean, other than piracy, there aren't many practical reasons to use MKV.

Sure you could argue home video or maybe legal backups of already owned movies or something, but we all know what MKV is really wanted for.

Agreed, however I got an MKV converter which converts MKVs to AVIs. It's a free program, I was going to post the link but I can't seem to find it now.

true..but it wont happen....i jus convert all my mkv files to avi or mp4...music videos still look nice tho

Just use PS3 Media server, no need to convert anything.
