Is it possible a hook up 2 of the same type passive subs on a HTiB system?? Will this hurt anything?? Or is this a bad idea??

Depends what HTIB it is... but I'm guessing "NO" usually those are designed for exactly the amount of speakers they come with.... to "Simplify" things.....
The bigger question is "Why in the heck would you want to do that" ?? If you already had a second sub.... SELL SELL SELL, and UPGRADE UPGRADE UPGRADE. |

OP, I don't see how it'd work with most HTiB's. You're dividing out power that wasn't meant to be divided since they're passive. They're not going to get what they need and will likely underperform. You'd be better off selling what you have and upgrading. |
