Default Can't watch DVDs anymore

My wife wanted to watch a french movie, The Valet. It's available only on DVD. I couldn't stand to watch it at the DVD resolution. It was fuzzy and grainy. Blu-rays have spoiled me forever.

Blu-Rays are fantastic.

DVD's are great too. On a Hi-Def upscaling projector, DVD looks like film (literally) and Blu-Rays are out of this world.

Long live Blu-Ray!!

Yeah, I'm starting to have the same reaction. When Blu-ray (and HD DVD) were first launched, I thought it wasn't worth to invest in a HD setup. Although I must say, I was used to DVD's being the top in home entertainment and only had a SD TV.

After getting my HD TV, I started getting interested in HD material and once I had my PS3, I was sold! The first blu I saw was Spider-Man 3 (which came witht he console) and it blew my socks off. This was the first time I saw the movie at home, exactly as I remembered seeing it in theaters.

Ever since, I've been collecting Blu's and have also trouble going back to DVD.

Sure Blu-Ray's look great, but I don't dislike DVD. There's still a lot of DVD's that I watch, like TV Shows, Concerts and sporting events that are only on DVD right now.

I can still watch DVD's as not all the films I like are on the Blu (or Red for that matter). They still look great upscaled

Foreign films are the most frustrating. Clean, HD subtitles are amazing in Blu-ray. When I'm watching a foreign film on DVD now, I'm always frustrated by how bad the subtitles look.

Meh, DVDs remastered, and reburnt on new disks with a clear protective coating look fine to me.

wow, i've definitely become spoiled by bluray's quality, but not enough to say a dvd is actually unwatchable . that's kind of extreme imo.

I can't stand to watch dvd's in my theater room on the large screen as they look aweful. Only time I watch them is when my wife and I rent something from redbox and watch it in the bedroom or living room.

agreed. i still like to watch dvd's and i still buy them too. there's nothing wrong with dvd's. no, they're not exactly the quality of blu-rays. but they're still quite good. i find it funny how many of the people complaining about how dvd's look so awful and cannot watch them anymore yet they were probably championing dvd's when they first came out.
