Name any actor's best work, by far surpassing anything that he/she has ever done before or since. The role of his/her lifetime in your opinion never to be out done.

IMO Matt Damon - Goodwill Hunting (1997) For your consideration.

Harrison Ford has been in a lot of good films. And Heath Ledger has been in many good films also. Tome Cruise has had more then one good one too!!!! Your list is horrible.

i think both leo and matt damon have had enough hits to not be on the list. especially leo

this is too difficult to pinpoint just one performance but I agree
with Heath Ledger in THE DARK KNIGHT

others that come to mind--

Paul Newman in THE VERDICT (amazing performance)

Mel Gibson in BRAVEHEART (followed closely by THE PATRIOT)-- the emotion
in these performances were as good as anything I've ever seen

Clint Eastwood in IN THE LINE OF FIRE and UNFORGIVEN.... Clint's made so many great movies and has had so many great roles but his acting in these
films really stood out

this is going on based on my personal opinion

I'm not really a big fan of any of Harrison's other movies, not even Star Wars
I really don't like Tom Cruise and the only movie I like him in was The Last Samurai
Heath Ledger, only movies I can remember him from are The Dark Knight, A Knight's Tale and Brokeback Mountain. He did a much better job of acting in TDK compared to AKT in my honest personal opinion and there is no way I would ever think of watching brokeback
