Default PS3 and Stand Alone player

how come when im using my stand alone player to play my blu movies the sound is much louder than my PS3 when im using it as a player when im playing blu movies in my ps3 which is set to LPCM i have to turn the volume to 35 in my onkyo 606 but when im using my stand alone which is set to Bitstream i only have to turn the volume to 25 in my onkyo 606 to get the sound as loud as my ps3 in 35?do i need to make some changes in settings on my ps3?

There is a setting on the PS3 that you can make that will adjust the output volume (I think thats what you would call it) I don't exactly remember where it is. but I'm sure someone on here will. I haven't played around with that feature in a while.

Depending on your connections, if your standalone is connected to your amp/reciever its probally bitstreaming and therefore giving you clearer and louder cleaner audio, the ps3 is not bitstreaming and probally a bit more hushed. Don't adjust the volume via the ps3 it will distort the audio quality. Just turn up your receiver.
