Default Any good PS3 RPG's?

Hey gang, ever since I played Parasite Eve on PS1 (the reason I bought it instead of n64) I have loved RPG's. I have played every Final Fantasy because of it, and every Grandia, plus lots of others.

My question is what are some really good RPG's I can play on the PS3? I know VC is praised but that is more of a strategy rpg. My prefered gameplay style is spend a day or so running in circles leveling 10 or more levels in the begining and then spend the rest of the game stomping over bosses.

Are there any old style rpg's for the system yet? I'm looking forward to white knight and FF13 but they are far away. I have kicked around the idea of folklore but am not sure. I'd love some feedback and suggestions. Thanks.

Eternal Sonata is probably the best "old school" style you'd be looking for.

If you are interested in Japanese RPGs, then you will enjoy Disgaea 3.

Yeah, but he said he wasn't too interested in Valkyria Chronicles because it was more strategy oriented so it's possible that Disgaea 3 would bore him to death!

I love Disgaea 3, but it's really only for people who like grid-style strategy RPG's. If you liked Final Fantasy Tactics, then Disgea 3 will be perfect for you.

Oblivion IV obviously.
Final Fantasy 13 (whenever that one will come out)
Borderlands
White Knight's Chronicles
Demon's Soul
The Witcher: Rise of the white wolf
Quantum Theory

There you go, though most of those are not yet released.

thanks for the post so far. I have to admit at the time I hated FF tactics. I got throught it just so i could say i played and beat every FF game, but yeah definatly not my style. I could probably do better now since i have played and enjoyed the Advanced Wars games on Gameboy Advanced thru DS.

So how good would you all say Eterna Sonata and Folklore are? 5 of 10, 7 of 10 etc?

Sorry about that, I don't have too much info on this game so I was not sure exactly of the kind. It seemed like an RPG/Action game but yeah I was not sure.

Folklore 9.5 Eternal Sonata 9.8. Oh and Cross Edge is coming soon to America where you can play as the Prinnies from Disgaea, the 3 Revyateils from Ar tonelico Melody of Elemia, Morrigan from Darkstalkers, and so on

Currently playing Fallout3 I like it a lot, I don't like being told what to do and where in games so i don't tend to rigidly follow a plot line more walk around and see where i get.

Oblivion is good as well but Fallout3 has the edge for me.

Eternal Sonata 9.5

Pros: sweet graphics, no loading screens, interesting story, deep game play.
Cons: voice acting can be corny at times, slow saving feature, follows a linear path.

Get that and VC, both great games

Don't. It is really bad. I know people really want a good RPG on PS3, but this isn't it.

Get, Valkyria Chronicles it is much better.

The only thing holding me back with that title is the graphics. Then again Disgaea 3 had really 'poor' graphics or atleast graphics I didn't agree with, but I was able to ignore them and enjoy the game.

Is this title similar? After awhile do you just not notice the type of graphics used and you are able to just enjoy the game? Sorry I'm just not a fan of the 'style' of graphics used in the game.
