Need Surround Speaker Suggestions!

Here's the dilemma...I have the front soundstage covered (Polk Monitor 50's & CS10 Center), and I'm having a heck of a time trying to find Monitor 30's in BLACK. Any leads, or suggestions for alternatives? I need to go with something in the size of a Monitor 30/40 because I will be wall-mounting them. I'm driving them with a Pioneer VSX-1018, which I just received tonight, but won't be hooking everything up until Friday. Was thinking about just getting a set of M10's from Newegg, but don't want to regret it. Let me know what you think...

I hear ya on that. Especially since the Egg has the Maple 30's...may be my only option.

Could do that. What about the M40s? Those are great surrounds!

Another thing...you could always re-finish them yourself. Just peel that vinyl off with some vinyl removal and get some decent and nice wood veneer in black oak. It's only MDF under the vinyl. I should know, I kinda scratched my CS2 on one the bricks I used to raise my tv so it would fit under it.

Yeah, I'm open to all suggestions right about now. Since this is going to be my first home theater setup that's even worth listening to I don't want to regret any of the decisions I make on speakers. I'm in a bidding war as we speak for a set of black 30's, but if worse comes to worst I may get the maples and vinyl em up. This stuff has been taking up all of my free time as of late. I spent all of last week scouring the net trying to find a receiver...then alas, I got my "Open Box" Pioneer 1018 for $305 shipped...and it arrived BRAND NEW! Heck, hanging around here with you guys will just make me want to upgrade within a year anyways...

How the heck can you to until Friday to hook up the receiver? I pace around all day waiting for the UPS guy when I know I have something coming. I swear I'm the last house he delivers to too.


I just googled Monitor 30 black and came up with some. 149.99 shipped don't know if thats good never priced them before.

You don't work for Best Buy/Magnola do you? I had a guy up there trying to sell me on BLACK definitive Technology Mythos Gems when , AT THE SAME TIME, he was selling me a SILVER mythos seven center channel (on clearance). He said " you could just paint the black ones silver"! Honestly I almost just walked out without buying a thing. Somehow I don't think silver paint would look the same as polished aluminum.
Anyhoo, I'd just try to be patient. Keep an eye on Ebay, Craigslist, any other site. Maybe go with Sirius's suggestion. I don't know too much about Polks, but aren't the speakers she suggested a better speaker? And if you can find them at a Circuit City like she did, you'll get a sweet deal now!

The 30's in maple will be less noticible on your wall than black, IMO
