I loved MLB 08. I played the Demo for both on my PS3 and i enjoyed MLB 09 much more. The graphics looked better and i thought the play was smoother. The 2k9 game was a big improvment from last year. But, It was also only a Demo of both. I'd go with the MLB 09.

The Show by Far, I used to be a 2k fan and then one day one of my buddies suggested the show and thank god he did, The show is better all the way around, graphics, gameplay, smoothness,etc... But then again thats my opinion

Haha. The person on the cover should never decide which game to by. I'd go as far as saying the MLB: The Show series is one of the best in video games, let alone the best in baseball video games.
Despite a Red Sock being on the cover (and me being a Yankees fan), I will still be picking up the game tomorrow. |

The Show hands down! 2K baseball is the biggest joke of a sim experience i have ever seen. The only way 2k9 would be any good is if they trashed last years game and TOTALLY started over!! The only game that will ever be able to compete with the show is if MVP ever comes back.. and that will still be hard to do! |

The last time I had a 2k game was when 2k sold all their new games for $19.99, as some sort of plan to attack EA I guess. I think that was Fall 2004, so I imagine it was MLB 2k5. I never did like that game. The MVP series was ok, but I still thought it was too homerun-happy (though it was certainly an improvement on the Triple Play days). Not to derail this thread, but here are my favorite MLB games of all-time: 1. Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball (SNES, 1994) 2. MLB '09: The Show (PS3, 2009) 3. RBI Baseball (NES, 1988) 4. Triple Play 2000 (PS1, 1999) 5. Super Baseball 2020 (SNES, 1993) Last edited by toef; 03-03-2009 at 03:38 AM. |

This is what you call your basic "no brainer." Buy MLB 2009: The Show and don't even look back. It not only completely destroys 2K9, it completely destroys every baseball game ever made! Seriously, it's THAT good! I cannot possibly imagine anyone who considers themselves a baseball fan, casual or hardcore, that would honestly prefer 2K9 over The Show.
