Default So there's a new Harrison Ford movie opening this weekend..did anybody know about it?

New movie from the Weinsteins called Crossing Over, starring Harrison Ford as an immigration officer. Surprisingly, the Weinsteins haven't even bothered to advertise their movie, so I'd be surprised if anyone here has even heard of it...have they?

Besides Ford, the movie stars Ashley Judd and Ray Liotta. I can't for the life of me think of why the studio isn't promoting this, what's up with that?

I read on movietickets.com that currently it is a LA/NY release, any idea on if or when it will be a nation-wide release?

I've never understood the Weinsteins. They produce and support some of the most original content Hollywood has to offer then turn their back on them after spending millions and millions of dollars to produce.

But there needs to be initial marketing or some type of campaign to start that word of mouth. It doesn't just start without a little push.

As a huge Ford fan...

Here's the deal.

He's completely refusing to do any publicity for it, as are many of the stars. Sean Penn was in the movie, his part was filmed...and was COMPLETELY cut out. He demanded that it be cut out after he saw the way it was turning out. This movie was due to be released last year and the Weinstein's keep pushing it back. They took it away from the director and that was that. They re-cut it. They've had many screenings of it and audiences haven't been too kind, from what I've heard. That may be the "word of mouth" people are talking about.

It's supposed to be very Crash/Traffic: interweaving stories and an all-star cast.

I think Harrison also took a pay cut to be in it. He has a habit of doing these things. He is supposed to be in one movie and then turns it down. It turns out to be a big success and then he does a secondary version of it. For example, he was cast in and developed the Michael Douglas role in Traffic and then dropped out. Now he does this. He was also asked to be Jack Ryan in Hunt for Red October and turned it down. Then he does it in the sequels.

It's probably going to get a limited release and then straight to video.

The trailer looked okay, I might rent it. Kinda looks to be a copy of "Crash" in many ways.

I knew about this mainly because Harrison Ford is my favorite actor. Though this movie did not get may good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Right now I believe this movie is at 13%

Sorry, Harrison Ford no longer makes movies.

Indy 4 put his career out to pasture and there's not getting it back now.

You are becoming just as bad with this Indy 4 thing as Beast with TDK

Yet The Beast owns a copy of The Dark Knight. He just can't handle that a DC comic film is better then a Marvel comic film. People need to relax about Indy 4. They act like Uwe Boll made it.

Big difference though.

I liked TDK {most people did too}

I disliked Indy 4 {most people are either on the fence or didn't like it as well}

I go with the flow, not against it. *LOL*

No he didn't. If he did Christian Slater would have been playing Indy and he would have based the movie off Lego Indiana Jones.
