Default Snyder wants 'Dark Knight Returns'

http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/02/25/...ns/#more-21047

Zack Snyder, like a lot of us, would like to see Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" made into a film, and Frank Miller thinks it's a good idea, too.

While the article says that the likelihood of this actually happening is small, if Watchmen is successful, maybe its not so crazy to hope for it. This would probably be the most anticipated movie, for me, of my life.

I'd love to see Mickey Rourke as the aged and grizzled Batman. I think he'd be perfect.

Not going to happen until Nolan is done.

Rourke as an older Batman. Daniel Day-Lewis as an older Joker. That would kick ass.

I think, if given the choice between this film and another Nolan Batman, I'd take DKR. Probably blasphemy for some, but DKR is the best Batman story to me, by far.

As much as I like Snyder, which I do. I'm a fan of all of his other films, and soon to be Watchmen most definitely...

NO ONE AND I REPEAT NO ONE needs to touch Batman in a film adaptation until Nolan stops.

It's that simple.

Ummm...you act like the world is going to end as soon as the next Batman movie is made. I'd rather have BOTH made, how about that?

And for the record, I think Nolan would do a better job with DKR than Snyder...but maybe it's just me. Nolan is a far better storyteller IMHO.

Hence, I said "if given the choice . . . "

That would be very interesting. DDL would be perfect for the Joker IMO. He's truly a remarkable actor and embodies the characters he plays VERY well.

You gotta love Mickey Rourke especially after the Wrestler

Daniel Day Lewis would be pretty good for the Joker. Maybe Ed Harris as Harvey Dent? And Shia LaBeouf as Robin

Please no Shia LaBeouf. Ed Harris might work.

lol

Anyways, even if TDK was about as good as the Joel Schumacher films, would we really need another reboot so soon? DKR would be a good idea..... in about fifteen years.

If it spares us another Nolan film, I certainly agree with you.

I wouldn't really consider DKR a reboot. It just stands on its own and doesn't really follow any established continuity.

Zack Snyder has directed like one decent movie and has one coming out that might be good or might not. I wouldn't waste my money on a Snyder Batman film. The movie would be too much CGI and not enough story. I will stick with Christopher Nolan for as many more Batman films he wants to do. Snyder needs to prove himself with storytelling and not CGI before I would give him a chance.

He's one of those like Nolan who's got the money and the power. I'm sure if he snapped his fingers he could pretty much do anything he wanted, and people would go see it.

This.

However, when Nolan and Bale lose interest (be that after the third or later) I'd much rather see this instead of a new director/lead.
