Default sony bdp300

I have an Onkyo tx sr875, it will decode master audio and dolby true hd.
I also have a sony bdp300. I understand that I will need a firmware update to 4.5 in order for the bluray player to decode true hd, My question is will the player pass a master audio signal through the player via the hdmi cable to be decoded and played by the receiver??????
Still pretty green when it comes to the new audio! thanks for any answers and advice

according the specs on this site, the player will not decode or bitstream dts ma.

your receiver will decode hd audio BUT your player must have the ability to bistream the audio, which it cannot.
