Default Sony Blu Ray BDP300 5.1 Audio Out Volume Control

So I rented a BluRay of MAD MEN w/ DTS-HD Audio to find my surround system can't decode it.
I have a 10 year old Kenwood KC-Z1 that can input optical audio and decode Dolby Digital AC-3 / 5.1 at best. The Sony 300 will output DTS-HD DD-Plus and so on from the discret 5.1 RCA outs. If I connect these directly to the amp how do I control the volume of these 5.1 outs? The remote seems to default to the TV (SONY XBR4) volume.

Any ideas??

Thanks,
Andrew

The only way to get HD audio from the s300 is with a HDMI cable. To get any type of HD audio you will have to change your receiver, the only thing you will get is the core tracks.

Also you might want to check in the S300 thread for more answers

Thanks for the reply,
The 300 will decode Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-HD. via the 5.1 outputs & HDMI. I need to control the 5.1 outs.
