Default Killzone 2 *Official* Upcoming fixes

Hi folks,



Boost

we've identified and fixed the bug to do with the boost medal not being awarded. It will go into a patch we are working on at present, but there is a workaround in the mean time to get it. Simply ensure that you are the Game Creator rather than client and you'll be awarded it.



Network Errors/Honor Ranks

We are also looking at fixing a good bunch of the network errors and are looking into the complaints about the Honor Ranks as well as a couple of other bits and pieces. We'll provide a list of fixes when we are close to releasing the patch.



Bots

We're working on a permanent solution for the bots stat padding and have some internal solutions that we're going to work on implementing. We'll let you know what those are when we've got the patch together and the solution implemented.

We will NOT be wiping ALL stats and padders will be looked at individually by the moderators.

www.killzone.com is being sorted out today to deal with the massive traffic its been facing and hope to have some long-term solutions in place shortly.

The stats are currently empty on the site and will be repopulated today.



Controller Issues

We have not stopped looking into the complaints and will see what we can do about it. Any possible changes will have to be carefully implemented and tested before being deployed though.



Charge disarming

We have identified the issue where sometimes the C4 charge in Search and Destroy will not disarm. Will be fixed with the next update.



Shotgun Aim Assist

Investigating the problem and will patch it up.



Clan Games

Sometimes the clan that does not turn up for a match is awarded the win under specific circumstances. Will be patched ASAP.



Battle Replay for Map 8 - Corinth Crossing

The BR on www.killzone.com is not quite right and will be fixed soon.



Ignore list

Was found not to be functioning correctly. Will be fixed in the next patch.



Crashes

Crash when using Saboteur disguise in certain situations. Will be fixed in the next patch.

Infrequent crash when trying to start a game with an empty game name. Will be fixed soon.



Medic/Assassination

There is an issue with the Assassination target HUD icon displaying when playing as a Medic. Investigating and will be fixed.



Thanks and apologies if I am not responding to all questions, PMs and threads. There are simply not enough hours in the day to help all of you out and I have to work on the issues themselves. So please stay calm and sensible and everything will get fixed up soon. As you can see we've fixed up a bunch of the problems you have encountered as well as a couple more you might not be aware of. The important thing is to be patient. Any patches have to be carefully implement to ensure that no additional issues are introduced.

Controls are fine. Sluggishness of movement is what would need to be fixed. IMO of course.

I see what you mean about the sluggish movement, but I don't believe its a bug as much as intended result.

I hope it isn't like COD. Why do we need another clone? I think it feels 'heavy' more than slow, like you'd be weighted down from your gear and the terrain is not like running across a football field.

Honestly, I think the "era of patches" can sometimes do more harm than good. Now everyone is going to always want a game to be patched so it works the way THEY want, not the way the game was intended. Funny how all the reviews didn't whine about the controls. It's different, get used to it, don't force them to change it and make it the same. Ugh.

Im not sure what people are talking about.. for me it feels right.. neither weighed or sluggish.. The controls feel right and very tight, for those that it feels sluggish then I must admit perhaps yall are newtypes which pshycic reflexes and because of that it feels slow.

Perhaps its time to magentically coat some ps3 controllers..

I agree. It is good when it can fix an issue, but bad when they alter from what they intended.

Good lord, I hope they don't dumb this game down to COD4 levels. KZ2 has set the new standard, the last thing I want is to de-evolve to Cromagnum controls.

Good to see they are fixing other issues (I haven't experienced any yet).

Man I love this game

The only thing wrong with the controls was that L1 wasn't zoom which was easily remedied by selecting 'alternate 2', other than that there is nothing wrong with them. If people want the game to play and move exactly like a COD game then go play a COD game and leave KZ2 to the people that appreciate having a bit of real world physics in a shooter.

i KNEW i should have been getting the boost ribbons.

IMO this is what they need to fix:

motion lag or whatever its called. i can tell theres a very short delay in moving the controll stick left to right.

implement random spawn points. too much spawn camping happening

increase the damage for all guns. i absolutely hate it when i have the AR and im shooting the guts out of a guy and he gets a last second head shot and kills me.

take out the ability to switch sides, and implement a friend-auto match system. so sick of playing in 20v10 games.

other than those issues, this game is golden. i got the valor #1 trophy, which is pretty good considering how many people were playing the stuffing out of this game this weekend. someday when i have a week with little to do, ill hit up this game hard and see if i can get #3 or even #4

I would like controls to be a little faster but it is no big deal. AI for team mates is horrid, I have never had to heal somebody so much in my life. Overall I like the game alot but I can see why it got some lower scores. The aiming is off, I was stuck on this one part and I could sneak up on these Helgasts and I would blast them point blank with the shotgun, sometimes they would die sometimes they wouldn't. Its very hard to track moving targets, and for all of you who say its realistic, you are full of crap and have never shot at moving targets. And on multiple ocasions I have died and fallen through the level. Plastic crates break and sound like wooden crates.

Just some things I have noticed, but I am still liking the game alot, and I haven't even touched multi-player yet. Oh and the midnight release in my city was a joke, 5 people showed up, it was hilarious.

Count me amongst those who are frustrated with the controls. "Realistic" or not, theyre really dragging down my enjoyment of the game. trying to fine aim is damn near impossible.

For those of you that like this, GREAT, but dont try to tell me that they are perfect.

I disagree. There are many products out there that have an intended effect, but also have unitended side effects and those issues have to be dealt with.

Plus, Im playing a game. Im willing to sacrifice some realism to make it more fun.
