Anytime a BD player (for right now) goes below the $200 mark in Canada you know you have a pretty good deal.

Although I picked this up at Xmas-time from Costco for $179.99

too bad it's a Samsung.

buyer beware. check the forums before you impulse buy this one. disc compatibility issues galore.

There are lots of people with no issues at all.......same can be said for any other decent player!

i have the sony BDP 350.

i've seen the Sony go on sale for $199 many times.

how does this Samsung Compare to the BDP? anyone have this samsung to comment? i've read that the BDP is better.

so i might just hold out until the Sony goes on sale again.

if you're happy with your player, then that's great! consider yourself one of the lucky ones

but buyers should know about the issues Samsung players have with disc compatibility.

I've had a Samsung BDP1200 from awhile ago, so I know what I speak of. I've checked the 1600 thread, and user there have the same issues, and that's their NEWEST player.

now I haven't checked the 1500 thread, but if I know Samsung, then I'm sure certain new releases will have compatibility issues too with this model.

it's a nice player, especially if you have some region free 1080i 50hz title. That about the only model that play them..
