Default How Benjamin Button got his face

This is a bit nerdy but I thought it would be cool to share this.

Ed Ulbrich, the digital-effects guru from Digital Domain, explains the Oscar-winning technology that allowed his team to digitally create the older versions of Brad Pitt's face for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

Very informative video. I love TED stuff.

I guess this is how James Cameron is going to do his Avatar. The uncanny valley is being crossed as we speak!

I just saw the making of Watchmen. Maybe it's not the final version of the VFX process but from what I saw, they used facial motion capture for Dr. Manhattan. That explains the off-sync. It may be by design but if Snyder went with the emotion capture system DD/Fincher used, it would have made it even more fantastic.

But Synder hasn't used any of the major effects houses yet. He basically has a team of smaller effects houses to do the work so they wouldn't of had the resources to do this.
