Default M$ gots some balls......

http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/fun.gam...eut/index.html

...anyone else reading this get the impression M$ couldn't give a crap about their customers? I think I've read similar stuff in recent weeks, but DAMN, these guys aren't even apologetic about these extra charges! ...love the quote where they say the fees are for paying for maintaining xbox live. What's the 50 FREAKIN $$$$ / yr. fee for? hair gel for Gates?
...can't wait 'till Home launches and shows that you can put the customer first.

Sony is also charging for add-ons too, so I can't blame MS for doing it.

I would have to agree, $50 * 3 million/yr is a lot of money, which I believe is more than enough for maintaining Xbox Live. If MS can't maintain Live with 150 million a year, than they need to find someone who can.

... charging for add-ons is fine, makes sense - but when a software Co. prefers NOT to charge, let 'em! But nooooo, M$ has to get their cut. Which I think supports many theories out there, re: M$ wanting to make delivery of content all-download - if M$ controls most of the distribution methods, they will be in a position to charge whatever they want AFTER there is no alternative. go ahead and charge for add-ons if you want, i'll buy 'em if i CHOOSE - but why is sony set to implement a direct competitor to Live for FREE, while M$ "has to" charge to maintain Live? M$ was/is charging because noone was/is providing an alternative. but that's gonna change soon.

And they say they are losing money!!...lol

Third-quarter revenue at the entertainment and devices division dropped 18.7 percent to $947 million, with an operating loss of $330 million, compared with a loss of $438 million a year earlier. Microsoft shipped 500,000 Xbox 360 consoles during the quarter.

BTW, this makes SONY look very good! Free online service, that should get better with time and the release of HOME.

Right now the PS3 online experience can't touch the 360 online experience. It should be interesting later this year.

This news is actually a few months old (which further proves how much the MSM sucks at reporting).
