Default Will Space Balls come to Blu-ray?

I am sure its only a matter of time, it will be awesome if Goldwyn Meyer bring Space Balls to Blu Ray.

Its a classic.

Default Criteria for Blu Ray releases

I wonder what criteria the studios are using to choose which titles will be released first?

Sorry to say, but this one will take a relatively long time. When DVD's became popular, Spaceballs on VHS was $4.99. Now it's $4.99 on DVD. right now, the studios are releasing the money titles from their catalog to lure new customers to blu. Unfortunately, Spaceballs doesn't command a $25 price right now, unless they pull some serious bonus features out of their...umm...spacehole

Yeah I don't expect this to be out for some time as well... when the studio however decides to release it, I do hope that the transfer will kick some a**.
Depending on the master, this might be a pretty cool looking flick, and it's a classic nonetheless.

I have the 2 disc collector's edition that came out in 2005 and it was about $20. It also features a excellent transfer of the movie on this DVD and looked really good upscaled on my PS3. The bonus features were pretty neat oo. Maybe they'll release it about the same time as Star Wars

I've been itching to watch Spaceballs again, haven't seen it yet on my projector I got last year. I just have the old release though, is the new 2-disc set a major upgrade in PQ?

When my wife and I were watching it, we were both pretty amazed on how good it looks! It also has a DTS track which was a pleasent surprise !

If I remember correctly, the transfer was remastered for the new 2 disc set.

If that's the case, and this new master is in great shape, we may be getting Spaceballs sooner than later.

Spaceballs is an evergreen title. The bigger question is how good that new HD master they ran a few years back looks, and whether they need to send it out for a scrub. Answer is almost certainly yes. It's been double if not triple dipped on DVD

I would love Spaceballs along with Men in Tights, Young Frankenstein and whatever other Mel Brooks movies are out there. Only other title off the top of my head that is his is Dracula Dead and Loving It. Different studios have control of different titles though so there can't really be a collection.

Another title I would love that isn't Mel Brooks is On Golden Pond with Katherine Hepburn and Henry Fonda. I grew up spending my summers on the lake it was filmed at. I used to hang around the docks of the small marina that was in one of the parts of the movie.
