Default Picture I took of Target Blu-ray space vs HD-DVD. It's true BLU-RAY has 4 rows!!!

Here is a picture I took at one of my local Targers here in Colorado Springs.
As you can see they have 4 rows of blu-ray vs the 2 for HD-DVD. When I asked one of the employees why they had more space for blu-ray vs HD-dvd he apparently did not know anything about it and said they were treating both equally. Then I pointed out to him that blu-ray has 4 rows versus the 2 for HD-DVD and he just said wow when did that happen? LOL

My targets have had double space for awhile now. I'm hoping they bump up the available space for the holidays.

My Futureshop has about the same. 4 rows of Blu and 2 rows of HD DVD. Plus they put new release Blu's next to their SD DVD counterparts in the New Releases section if they are day & date. (although they do the same with HD DUD)

Soon the HD movies will be up by the cash registers me thinks.

Now they need to stop overcharging on titles, i'am pretty sure FOX title are gonna be 34.99 and 39.99 when you can have it for about 29$CAD of Amazon.com or Hdaddicts.com (Calgary based)

My local Blockbuster has twice the space for Blu-ray.

It's been a while since I took a pic - mine was the one that people photoshopped to show cobwebs on the HD DVD section and deleted 80% of them, but it used to be even shelf space with far more crowding on the BLu-ray side.

Maybe I'll go by and take another pic today.

My local Target (West Miami area) has the 4 rows for BD and 2 for HD DUD. The picture posted previously in this thread is the excat representation of the space allocated to each format in my store. However, I had noticed the change like a month ago.

Same at my Target also.
They sell Sony Tvs, dvd players, clock radios and such, but NO Toshiba products, has it always been that way?

Default Nice

My local Target has about that many BD's; however, about half as many HD-DVD's as the picture. What's great, is that they're even putting BD's on the HD-DVD side. It's not that BD's aren't selling, cause you see a few open slots, as well as only 1 or 2 copies left of some titles. They normally get about 5 copies of each title.

I took a picture at a local store which sells high-definition. It's 6X5 Blu-ray, and 0X0 HD DVD. Jakarta, Indonesia.
I'll put it in once I got my broadband access back.

Agreed that Futureshop overcharges and its the main reason most of my Blu Ray movies are purchased through Amazon. Once in a while Futureshop will have a 19.99 deal on a half decent flick but it isn't often.

One example of the crazy pricing is Futureshop listing The Benchwarmer's for $46.99 on their website ...WTF?

I took these at my wal-mart. Had to make a sign becasue people were accidently buying blu-rays and lpaying them in their standard dvd players.
Notice the endcap has four spots four blu. the sidecounters are mostly blu. and of course the six shelves for HDM. four rows vertically for blu and only 2 for HD DVD. some spots doubled. We have both versions of planet earth but we keep them in back because theives steal them when we put them out. so you have to ask for them. We have so much blu-ray in the back that we don't have space for out in the department. I think Wal-Mart knows who's winning the war. all the stores in the area are like this.
