Default help - futurama disc not playing

I'm not sure how to tackle this issue. I have a pc I built with an lg ggc-h20l blu ray drive. it works, and i have played discs with it. I just got the new futurama from netflix and it won't play, the disc starts to spin, the blu led lights for a few seconds, then it stops. and nothing. it won't go to the menu, i can't bring up the menu from the powerdvd 8 menu, i put in another blu-ray disc and it works fine. I have the most recent firmware update. I'm not sure how else to go about fixing this. has anyone come across an issue like this before? How can I resolve it? Thanks!!

I can provide system specs, but blu-ray works, just not this disc, and the disc looks fine (it's brand new, so i doubt many, if any, people have gotten it from netflix before me)

When I got the last Futurama movie, it was a pain to get it working, likewise with Horton Hears a Who.

Fox who published Futurama and Horton Hears a Who uses BD+ copy protection, so if the player hasn't been updated to work with the disc yet, then unfortunately it won't play.

Horton Hears a Who came out in Aus a couple months before the US on BD, so even the most up to date PowerDVD still wouldn't play it when I rented it.

So maybe you will need to wait for a future software update?

Unless someone else has successfully played it and you just have a faulty/damaged disc...

I have anydvd running in the background as well, so that would theoretically remove the copy protection so it can play, right? I have tried in the mean time ripping the disc to an iso image, mounted that, and that won't play. I have ripped the contents of the disc, and tried to play the .m2ts files, but they don't play properly in vlc. right now i am trying to convert the .m2ts file into an mpg, but in the preview it looked like the audio commentary was the only audio available.

The disc is clearly good, I can simply not play the disc.

Try playing it without AnyDVD, sometimes that works with newer discs.

Also check if AnyDVD thinks it has removed the protection from the disc or whatever by going into it - I remember it showing an error when my discs wouldn't work.

i have 20 blu ray dvds and all work fine except the 2 futurama blu rays. ive taken both back to the store many times. green yonder gets as far as the fbi warning, loads up and then goes right back to the main menu. its very frustrating. i cant believe there arent many people with the same problem

I'm having similar issues with Max Payne(Fox BD). I have the same drive as you. Although i had it working before i upgraded stuff. The thread is "Blu-Ray in 64 bit Vista"

What OS and gpu are you using?
