Default How much smaller will BluRay players be in the future?

Ones now are about 40cm * 30 * 8, I'm wondering if they'll be a signifcantly smaller size in around 3 years, what do you think?

They should be about the size of a walnut.

Waitaminit...

Actually they will probably get to where DVD players are today.

Well, Panasonic just announced a model for auto use. I think that's a single-DIN design. And all the PC recorders are either half-feight 5.25" desktop drives or very small notebook-sized drives. So, size issues have already been pretty well worked out. It just adds to cost of manufacturing, so why try to shrink the size of CE players at this point. Im sure in 2-3 years, there will be all kinds of different sizes of players available.

I actually prefer the way they look now. I just like them to be more heavy duty, and I can't stand the DVD players of today which weigh about a pound.

No matter how small they get it wouldn't mean anything if it doesn't come with a HD screen for the portable ones.
