Default Heavy Feedback Using Playstation 3 Eye

I went online last night with Burnout to get some Freeburn challenges under my belt with a buddy of mine and I had some wicked feedback the whole time.

Are there any tips on how to minimize that feedback? It is possible that my PS Eye is defective?

I was thinking about getting the bluetooth headset. Can I use both at once? Turn off the mike on the toy and use the sound on the bluetooth?

Help!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and solutions.

What sort of feedback were you getting? Are you talking about using it for a microphone?

do you have it to close to a speaker? maybe adjust the sensitivity settings so its not as sensitive to pick up noises around, thats what I did

Sorry, I should have clarified. Yes, it while using it as a microphone. I've got microphone setting at 1, my surround sound receiver turned down real low.

I'm getting heavy distortion... my speech bubble by my name in Burnout is always showing. I've pulled the camera very close to me so it's not right by the speakers...

I've had the same issue using it as a microphone as its designed to pick up sound when placed far away from you. Its good for whats its designed for, to video record you from a distance while recording what you are saying. However I don't think it anticipated it being used just as a microphone.

It works fine as a headset, but I suggest to minimize other game volume this will minimize feed back and make it less likely to activate.

If your using the Tv as the return it is specifically a needed thing to do is either use a headset for return speech or lower / mute other game noises..

I find most of the game sounds generally muck with communication in general so turning them down in there respectable sound settings is a good idea.

+ You can turn down your mic level so it targets less.

Some feedback you sometimes get when a user ihas there mic too close to the tv...

Personally I would advise putting the eye offcenter to the right pointing at your with some seperation from the tv.

I have a similar problem with mine, I think the culprit is the surround speakers. If you turn down the overall volume of your speakers, the feedback should decrease.

Default Eye is an awesome mic!

Before I started using the eye as my microphone, I tried 3 different blu tooth ear pieces and one wired headset, nothing comes close in sound and convenience of use. You never have to recharge or stick something in your ear and it turns on automatically with your ps3. I have mine sitting next to my ps3, volume maxed out, and it works great. Anybody want to buy the new Sony bluetooth headset half off, lmao.
