Arrow Gotta read Ratners comments about Comic movies

I'm sorry but this guy is out of touch.

Quote:
He’s the rumored front-runner to call the shots on a “Conan” revamp, he’s officially onboard to produce and direct an adaptation of Rob Liefeld’s “Youngblood,” and he already has one financially successful comic book adaptation under his belt (2006’s “X-Men: The Last Stand“), but Hollywood heavyweight Brett Ratner isn’t done with comics. In fact, he wants to do more movies based on them.

“I would do any superhero movie that I was asked to do,” Ratner told MTV News. “But I wouldn’t have been interested in ‘Iron Man.’ I have a lot of respect for [Jon Favreau], because to me, it was a B-character. ‘Iron Man’? … But look what he did.”

The ever-outspoken Ratner — who has achieved a “love him or hate him” status among fans — lamented to MTV that he nearly landed a franchise character (namely Superman) but eventually passed on the chance to direct Big Blue’s return to cinemas. He now worries that the ship has sailed on notable characters that have mainstream box office appeal.

“I was so upset when I left ‘Superman,’” said Ratner. “[Bryan] Singer has his ‘X-Men,’ [Christopher] Nolan has ‘Batman‘ — there’s nothing left. ‘Hulk‘ has been exploited already. There’s nothing left for me.”

“I mean, I’m not going to go and do the Silver Surfer or something,” shrugged Ratner.

At least he's honest, even if it seems like all he cares about is big money and fame.

GOD NO!!! Last Stand was Craptastic enough especially after the amazing quality of X2. This man should not be allowed near another beloved character. Personally I liked Superman Returns I thought it was a good reboot on the franchise with the intention that the next one would be more action heavy much like Singer did w/ X-men and then the far Superior X2.

all I know is whoever touches The Flash and Captain America better make them damn good b/c if they screw them up I will hunt whomever is responsible down.

Ratner should stick to Rush Hours and leave our comic book heroes alone.

Maybe he should consider doing "Danger Girl" with Jessica Biel...this would fit him perfectly. A Comic book film that has been stuck in development hell for who knows how long with Jessica Biel set to play Abbey Chase. Get the Children of Men and Iron Man writers to pin the script...then you got yourselfs an worthy summer pop corn flick.

Yup, that's right Brett, there's only 2 super hero franchises out there.

Dumbass.

I {personally} hope he never touches another comic book franchise, ever.

He's like the Uwe Boll of comic book movies, takes a good idea and skull-f**ks it until it's unrecognizable to anyone.

The only comic property this guy should even be allowed near would be something like "Starjammers" or "The New Warriors".

Obviously this guy knows nothing about comics to begin with. There are MANY more characters to explore in film.
