Default Pioneer VSX-9130 vs Yamaha RXV 863

OK so what about a Pioneer VSX-9130 at 900$ THX ultra 2 with all the other blu-ray master DH and more I'am in a dilemma between this one and a that I can have for 700$

What would you guy's suggest and please add why, the differences between them not just "go for yamaha" or go for Pioneer" I want to know why???

I like the Yamaha sound better But that's a personal taste .Man you can go back and forth with these two.I really don't think you can make a bad decision

I will say that Pioneer looks really sexy

http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/p...0&CTID=5000300

The truth is there both great receivers. Its really up to you and what company you trust more. Both do an amazing job.I wish i can give your more but that's what i truly believe

If the Pioneer Elites are still on sale at Best Buy, I would go that direction. I think the 05 is $999 and it is an $1800 receiver.

Otherwise I would go with the rx-v1800. On close, out for under $900 shipped. And I am sure you could find a better price than Amazon. Probably around $800.

RX-v1800

The 1X00 line is a step up from the X63 line. Weighs in around 45lbs (better power supply).

+1. On the Yamaha side I would seek out the RX-V1800 if that's truly your price range. Sound-wise, my preference is with the Yamaha, but Pioneer does make some good receivers. It's a pretty close call, and it all boils down to whichever one sounds better to you with your speakers.

Not a true statement. The Yamaha is highly detailed and revealing, and that works well with high resolution sources such as uncompressed Blu-ray soundtracks and SACDs. It has Burr Brown DACS on all audio channels, and they provide great clarity from digital sources.

Ok so which brand would you recommend?? between those two models, we need to consider that the Yamaha 863 is a bit older than the VSX-9130

You can't swing another $74 for the RX-V1900? $974 is a heck of a deal for the 1900.

If you can swing it, I'd recommend the RX-V1900.

or...

You can grab the RX-V1800 for $825, but I'd hurry to get it before it's gone.
