Sound skipping on PS3?

what receiver are you using? is it an HDMI switching receiver or an HDMI through receiver? what audio track are you using on pirates? the ultimate test to figure out what the problem is.......use an optical cable for audio(dont forget to tell the PS3 that you switch from HDMI to optical)...go to your BD settings on the PS3.....change the optical output to linear PCM.....and put pirates in.....switch the audio track from standard 5.1 (which is the default) to 5.1 uncompressed.......through an optical cable,this will force the PS3 to output 2 channel 48KHz sound which should not skip....odds are you need a new receiver...ive helped plenty of people with this and it usually turns out this way
