Sarah Connor Chronicles to Continue Late 2010
I never got into this series, but I know there are a lot of fans out there:
Quote:
I want to start off by stating two absolute facts. There is no love loss between the "rabid" fan base of Terminatorwiki and myself and that I will be eating a super-size order of crow as I tell you that Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles will live on due to no small part to the unrelenting efforts of Terminatorwiki.
I had a chance to talk with the same source at WB that gave me the heads up on the cancellation back in March 2009. I was vilified for breaking that story until Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly talked to the very same source and ran with it. At that point the story became international news LOL!
I was also slammed for being the first to tell you about Sci Fi or SyFy now, taking a hard look at TSCC until again awhile later that too was confirmed by the masses, but first, let's digress to the LG Finale.
The LG Finale
Plain and simple, I was fooled and learned a really valuable lesson the hard way. I did indeed have a look at a final script, that being a very early one as it had a lot of dead on spoilers including the HK Attack on Zeira Corp, Sarah being in Weaver's Office at the time, Cameron downloading into JH, the exact statement that Weaver said to Sarah concerning the two sons and several other dead on spoilers. My version was obviously flawed though. Hence I have learned and verified the following story on TSCC living on with two independent sources. I had to basically blackmail the second source to confirm it. They were shocked that I knew to say the least.
What will happen
There were two forces at play here that helped save TSCC. Very much like Andy in The Shawshank Redemption being persistent in the writing of letters to the State of California for a new library and funding, Terminatorwiki also did the same thing with anyone that would, and would not listen to their efforts to save their beloved show. InThe Shawshank Redemption, in an effort to shut Andy up and stop his letter writing campaign of six years the state funded a new library. In a sense T-wiki has accomplished the same thing over at WB and Halcyon.
Quoting my source over at Warner Brothers.
"History shows that America wasn't amused when the formula for Coke was changed and they weren't amused with Salvation, we heard, we listened and felt the pain. There will be a T5 but it will make a left turn in Albuquerque and get back on course on where it should have went in the first place and you can take that to the bank"
I said "Can you elaborate a little here and what's up with Bug's Bunny reference" response:
"I am saying more than I should at this point but early on there was a rift in the creative direction of "Terminator" as a whole. There was a group that convinced the powers that be that the franchise needed to mature past the story lines of machines verses humans and concentrate more on the human side and the saga of surviving .....and then there were the ones that wanted a TSCC style lead in for the future of the movies. Needless to say, the human story failed big time.TSCC will be back and the story line will continue".
TSCC in Late 2010 or Early 2011 and What I learned
I learned that at a minimum there are plans to pickup where TSCC left off and go straight to DVD as a T5 warm up although a relaunched TSCC Series is not out of the works depending on wide variety of things. The goal would be for the series and T5 to form a merge point in a future timeline. The plan is to possibly start production in late 2010 or early 2011. Most of the cast will already be on board due to contract clauses from the orifinal series from what I understood.
The Bugs Bunny Reference
I asked about the "Left turn in Albuquerque" reference that was made several times throughout our conversation and was told there was a fan fiction site run by a guy in Albuquerque that was so close to the direction in which the relaunched TSCC will go they actually had legal look into it. It however turned out to be pure coincidence but other than the overboard special effects it was about 80 - 85% solid in the direction the story will take and will be compatible with the next Terminator movie.
In the Official continued TSCC story line, young John Connor will exist for a time in the future and will return to circa 2010 before Sarah succumbs to cancer and J-Day occurs. What piqued the interested of Halcyon and WB were the writer's uncanny similar evolution of Allison, her relationship with John along with her capture by a Marcus Wright style Terminator and the development of Alex the ever so quiet Latina as an integral part in John's present and future. Weaver will also return "full force" as will Ellison, Savannah, Murch, JH and whole new set of characters in the future including Kyle and Derek.
My source ended with them stating there was no connection between the writer and the studio other than some uncanny coincidental similar direction in the future TSCC storyline. I was also pleased to learn there is a 99.9% certainty that Josh Friedman and crew will have nothing to do with future TSCC productions, thank god! Seems they had their fill of "The Boy in the Bubble"
An Apology to Terminatorwiki
I owe Gusar, eXecutex, Liquid Metal and a whole host of other Terminatorwiki regulars an apology for doubting and even mocking your efforts to save TSCC. I am pleased that you were indeed right and I whole heartily Apologize.
Please visit Terminatorwiki and Join the Resistence! With enough noise we might get a whole season, you never know.
