Default Onkyo TX-SR606 problem???

hi,

sorry for the repost folks; but i still can't find a direct/simply answer to my problem?? perhaps someone of you in the know can help??

many TIA...

just purchased the above onkyo receiver which is hooked up to a sony s type bravia lcd 40" tv, 5.1 audiopro speaker/ subwoofer system along with sky hd and ps3 (all connected through the amp using HDMI cables) and that's it...

basically; pictures (which are great) and sound is working fine...

but...

1. i seem to be having trouble setting up the best audio listening modes in trying to use the amp to full potential... when viewing sky hd i never get any dolby digital screen logos come up when a programme is using the transmission. the best i can get is a dolby logo with pl II and that's it for every thing with sky - hd or not?? should i get the dolby when watching such broadcasts?? not sure if the amp/ digibox is set to the correct audio settings? whats the most efficient setting i need?

2. when using the PS3 (whether its gaming /dvd's or streaming from PC) all i can get is 5 chn multi/ pl II game /Dimen Theater or analog - when using the listening mode buttons on the remote (of which none are giving me the proper surround sound experience) i've tried changing the PS3 settings from linear to bitstream? no joy (so changed back again)? yet again; am i missing something here? done the microphone speaker set up and everything went ok, but can't find/ set a mode that seems to be at full potential?

please can anyone help?

cheers
