Default 09 yamaha recievers

Has anybody heard about the new yammy recievers for 09.Models 765,665,565,and 465.There suppose to have 4 hdmi inputs,Besides the extra inputs they might be moving a step down from the 863 and the 663 models because they might not be as powerful as the current models.Anybody have more info please post.

Thanks for the headsup and link.
Interesting how they have cheapened the speaker connections for the 465 and 565...they use blade connectors for the cc and surrounds. The 665 is the first to use full connectors.

Looks like they changed the ugly orange light field. I wish my 663 was like that.

Well one good thing is maybe I can pick up an '08 663 at a good price. If not I will probably go with one of the '09 models. I am not uber concerned with the blade connectors for the cc and surrounds. I use good quality and appropriate guage wiring and it will be fine. I do like the new display and the prices are not too bad at all.

As being the one who posted the 663 model last year and not actually purchasing it till jan in 09... I was kinda dreading the new models coming out but after seeing this, im glad I bought when I did.... They look really cheap now... Poor Yamaha I guess the economy can even bring the best down.... Well then again Pioneer Elite TVs are leaving too

As a owner of the rxv1800 and the rxv661, I hope they are not starting to sleep at the wheel and push out sup-par stuff.

Hi,
Do a comparison on Yamaha's site. It looks to me like they have added HDMI inputs and reduced all others.
Improved/changed?? the Scene modes and the GUI screen
Slightly reduced the power and the overall build quality.
They have added "HDMI VIDEO PASSTHROUGH" ???

If that means that the signal will pass through from the cable box to the TV WITHOUT the receiver having to be turned on, THAT would be a HUGE improvement.
