I hope someone can help.I have a samsung bd2500,I have about 10 bul rays so far and have rented about 15 but the other day I got Big Fish and thats when weird things started.
1: when I put it in the 1st time and played it I could not get any of the subtitles to work.Sometimes when I used the remote to put the subs on it would just go back 1 step.I gave it to a friend and he said the it worked fine on his sony.So I sent it back to amazon and the gave me a new one. When I put it in the tv screen went green and the full of noise then said could not find signal.I noticed that the player was set to 24fps.So take out the disk shut off the 24fps and the big fish played, but yup you got it..no subs still. My player is up to date with firmware and I did a hard reset but still the same,24fps will not start playing turned off will play but no subtitles. Please help |

You should have 24fps on if your TV can support it, never heard of this problem before - I have the 1500 and works perfect. Are you 100% sure you have the latest firmware on there? Did you update it from a USB stick/cd rom or use an ethernet cable? Maybe there is a newer firmware out that solves the problem. Also your friend did he say the movie worked fine or with subtitles also?

You didn't mention what TV you have,... or it's capabilities. Is it possible the TV is having a problem,....or a cable is loose ? Barring any of that,.... do any of your other movies play ok under the same conditions ? If so,....you are back to the movie or the BD player may have a problem WITH that movie. I've never seen "Big Fish",....I do have a 2500,..... and have had no problems with anything new I get from Netflix. I run at 1080p and 24fps on a Mitsubishi DLP.

I used the ubs stick to make sure the player was updated to 2.4 but still none of the sub will play.this blue ray came from amazon not netflik.is there a chance that it could be a bootleg?it was sold as new but that is the only thing I can think of.once again thanks for amy help.

Either way works for updates,....ethernet is the preferred way according to the Manf.

![]() ![]() Any manufacturer can have a unit go bad,...... but based on what I've owned and what I've seen here,....there are problems across the spectrum with many players. Over 95% of Samsung's problems were with the 1st generation players,.... and most of those were due to the advancement of the Blu-Ray disc itself,....and the Studio's fixation on security over playability. Many of the other players are still fighting those problems. Particularly now that the cheaper brands are hitting the market. Samsung is no worse than others in this regard. I've heard bad about the Panasonic's,....the PS 3's,..... ALL of them. Nobody is building a bullet proof machine. TIM, a quick question,.... have you tried the movie using YOUR player,.... but on Someone else's TV and cable ? The player could have a problem,....... but sometimes you just never know. |
