Post Who watched the ER series finale tonight (4/2)?

Just finished watching the 2-hour series finale of ER on NBC. It's just amazing that the show has lasted an astonishing 15 years! Anyway, I enjoyed the finale very much. It's nice to see some old friends that we've come to know and love over the last 15 years, including Dr. John Carter (Noah Wyle), Dr. Elizabeth Corday (Alex Kingston), Dr. Peter Benton (Eriq LaSalle), Dr. Kerry Weaver (Laura Innes), and Dr. Susan Lewis (Sherry Stringfield). It's almost as if they never left the show at all! I still miss Anthony Edwards in the role of Dr. Mark Greene. To me, the trio of Edwards, Wyle, and George Clooney were the heart of the show. And speaking of Clooney, I also hated that I missed the next-to-last episode where he returns to the role of Dr. Doug Ross alongside Julianna Margulies as Dr. Carol Hathaway. Maybe if said Clooney episode comes back on one day, I'll catch it. But anyway, I've enjoyed the finale immensely, and it's just so hard to say goodbye to the show after all this time. I hope Warner announces all 15 seasons of ER for Blu-ray this year because they will be day one purchases on the spot!

So, who else watched the ER series finale tonight?

WOW!!! This show finally came to an end? Never seen it myself. Never have been much for medical dramas. I sure hope they gave all the long time viewers what they expected from the finale. I will probably be sad when C.S.I (Las Vegas) comes to an end, which could be sooner then expected since the long time fans like myself aren't to impressed with Laurence Fishburne's replacing William Peterson as the star and he's playing a CSI level 1. The writers and producers have really dropped the ball and would rather see it go out while it's still some what on top.

I didn't care for the Finale. I think its one of the worst series Finales I have ever seen.
It was nice to see some old faces but I was nodding off half way through. Its no wonder the show was canceled if the past two years were anything like last nights episode.

For tv shows, casting is by far the #1 factor. They started losing original cast members and drifted down the river.

They killed Goose, and died a slow un-medicated death.

This is my wifes favorite show and I have never cared much for it. I did watch the finale tonight with her and we were both way underwhelmed. She even said the more she thought about it the more disappointed she was by it. It was definately a crappy series finale.

Can someone sum up the finale in a few sentences, for someone who hasn't watched the show in 8-10 years? I obviously won't get specific things (like names), but am interested how the show ended in general?

I caught the last seconds of it when there were some ambulances outside, and just assumed the ending was something like "just another day at the hospital" sort of thing, like life goes on... but obviously I have no idea.

squeeze in everyone that had time to fly in for a few seconds, bleed all over the place, and Goose is still dead.

O and the theme music at the end, drifting down the lonely Chicago street-

Default Bye bye ER!!

I watched it....I couldn't have NOT wached it...ER has been a staple in my house since it hit the air back in '94! Last night's finale was nothing too special, but I really don't think it was supposed to be. ( the hour long retrospective that preceded it was actually better!) I don't believe the producers wanted the audience to feel like the cast was floudering around out there,by doing something like closing the hospital, and leaving everyone unemployed, etc! Today,we are supposed to believe that they are all still there at County, saving lives and carrying on as usual....only,the camera's aren't there to bring them into our living rooms next week!!

So the final was last night? Would you belive I've never watch one episode of E.R. I am not much into hospital dramas but it must have been great to stick around for 15 years. I guess Law & Order will be closing soon as well? That show as been around what, 20 years?

I watched this show for the first 6 or 7 seasons and as the regulars started to leave it just didn't lived up to the previous seasons.
I didn't get a chance to watch last night show but as soon as I can will certainly do....

No replacement for the 10pm spot on NBC beside Leno...

Hillstreet Blues,St Elswhere,LA Law and ER.....Leno something is wrong with that picture.
