dark crystal and labyrinth placeholders? - Blu-ray Forum

amazon has placeholders and listed on new preorders on this site has there been any whisper of these this year ? any links would be appreciated

Hate to be the bubble burster, but Amazon also has placeholders for the Star Wars films and there have been no whispers regarding that except they might be released for the 35th anniversery. I didn't hear anything about Dark Crystal or Labyrinth on Blu. God knows I'd buy them.

Penton (I believe) mentioned some time ago that the Blu-ray would be limited by the deteriorate quality of the print.

They arent just place holders though, they are available for pre-order, strangely enough. Very interesting...

Yep. No release date yet. But they are up for pre-order. Can't wait.

just watched labyrinth on sat and thought this and the dark crystal would look so good on bluray labyrinth looked prety good upscaled so can only imagin it on bluray

I would so love to have the Muppet movies on Blu-Ray. Be the only way to get true hi-def muppet action as the Muppet Show was (I believe) taped, not filmed.

The most recent DVDs looked fantastic, so the Blus should look at least halfway decent.

Yes they do! Both were digitally mastered. I attended a screening with Brian Henson for Labyrinth a couple years ago and the print he used for the screening was fantastic as well.

AMZ just emailed me about both titles this morning, but still no actual date anywhere on either product page.

dark crystal was announced on this site with no date a very long time ago but i haven't heard anything since. it also is on highdefdigest's list of future releases
