I picked up this player after all the good reviews (in general) I read on the net. This is my first jump to Blu-ray! Everything seems to work fine so far except for the Netflix streaming- which was a major factor in choosing this model. I was able to get it hooked up through to the internet and updated the firmware. I also successfully activated Pandora smoothly and it works fine. However when it came time to activate Netflix , it comes back with the error "Cannot connect with your home networK...."..
After calls to Netflix and Samsung support, I was asked to reset (pressing ff for 10 secs with internet cable disconnected), then try bypassing the router to see if the router was blocking the access. I tried removing the router and connecting it directly to the DSL modem and I still have the problem. The Samsung support technician then informed me - it is a known bug they are working on with Netflix, and there are others who have a similar problem. I wondered if anybody else has experienced the same problem. I am pretty convinced my internet is not the problem as I have access to Pandora and it worked smoothly at all times during the troubleshooting. The only question then is if it is due to fact that I have DSL (ATT) instead of Cable. All other functions are great and works well with my system (with Samsung LCD 46A650). If I / they (Samsun-Netflix) can't solve it, I might return it before I run out of time back to Best Buy and wait till I am sure the bug is fixed. I would welcome any suggestion before I give up. Thanks In advance!! |

I had a similar problem trying to connect my 2550 to the internet as well. I figured out it must be my cat5 cable. I had to do the firmware update via USB. I ended up getting a Belkin 200Mbps powerline adapter for plug-and-play ease. It works great that way.
How are you connecting player to the internet? Gaming adapter? Direct cable from router? Powerline adapter? This info may help narrow down possibilities. Personally, I'd run to BB tomorrow and return the thing and try again (but I'm a very impatient person). You do have some time before BB opens to troubleshoot. |

hey guys,....I went through the same thing. It was simple,...my router was bad. My DSL provider had a new style DSL Modem with wireless and 4 ports built in,...once I installed it, everything was good ( the old one was one port,...and I had a belkin 4 port router after it ). If you want to confirm this,....unplug your computer from the modem,.....and hook the 2550 direct to your Modem,....bypassing the router.
![]() If the direct connect doesn't work,...you might try lowering the firewall in the modem. Sometimes if it is set on the highest setting,...or you have custom settings,....it may interfer. Barring that,....it is possible the modem is the problem. BTW,...Netflix has no knowledge of any "problem" they are working on. Samsung doesn't have a clue as to what is going on. Thought I follow up. It turns out my router (Belkin) was blocking access. Connecting directly to the modem did not work as the Player needs to an IP address etc. (?) - thats what I was told!! Belkin has the fix on their web site - and Samsung support directed (after several calls) me to it. I guess persistance helps.
By the way I switched through 3 players thinking I had was 'lemon' lucky. The last switch was an exchange to BDP 3600 at BB. Now have wifi access too and actually helped me diagnose the problem as it has a feature for testing the network connection. For sure the Samsung- 3600 with 47A650 LCD is an awesome combination with network access!!! |

My BD-P2500 works perfectly and the signal goes through two switches. A budget Zonet from monoprice and a Lyksis/Cisco unit that I've had for years.
I see you got the 3600, but if you want to connect it hard wired and you have another router between the player and the modem or a residential gateway such as at&t uses then do NOT use the uplink port on the router. |
