For those of you who missed this incredibly bizarre appearance from last night, here's a blow-by-blow account of what went down. Letterman was fantastic; Joaquin was out to lunch. No transcript, however, can adequately detail just how strange the whole thing was. I sure hope this is all a put-on:

This is all a joke. Him and Casey Affleck (his brother-in-law) are making a mocumentary like Borat. Or he's just seriously insane.

I watched that last night. He reminded me of Anna Nicole when she was on Howard Stern high as kite.

That was totally bizarre. I think it's got to be a put on...I mean, his manager wouldn't let him on national television wasted like that, would he?

seems like there was a red carpet interview in years past where he matter-of-factly asked if the interviewer if a frog was coming out of his head?? I could not tell if he was joking or if he' just crazy....I'm starting to think he does not joke around too much
