Default Blu's dropping in price?

Not sure if this goes here, but I have noticed that blu's have seemed a bit cheaper then they used to be, at least at best buy. Perhaps they are dropping in price or I am finding what I want on sale or I am just getting used to the premium prices vs dvds.

Anyone else notice this that blu's seemed to have dropped a bit in price or maybe its just easier to choke down the cost on em?

The Day The Earth Stood Still 3 disc blu at best buy is listed at 25 bucks same as amazon

I think a lot of it has to do with the market saturation of late and the rest has to do with the recession.

I have seen other stores go cheaper, but not necessarily BB. It will be heaven once new releases come out at a mere 20 bucks

When I buy most BDs from play.com, they are usually cheaper than new DVD-releases in retail in my country (Norway).

I think it's $10 at Walmart, and has been for a while.

Well, I was in Barnes & Noble and happened to glance at their Blu-ray prices, and my jaw dropped when I saw they wanted $40.00 for a new release!

They need to drop their prices and soon!

Barnes & Noble? HA!! They always charge the MSRP. Even their sale prices are higher then a Best Buy regular price. They're like FYE with books.

I am hoping that BD movies will drop in price soon. I really think that is the one bottleneck to complete BD success, because the hardware sales are there.

When new releases are <=$25 at B&M retail stores, then we will definitely see the percentages increase. Blu-ray pricing needs to encourage impulse buying at stores.

yes on the impulse buying but the price needs to be <$20 for new releases.

Target has made several new cuts on selected Fox titles. They also have been putting alot more titles on sale each week compared to a year or more ago. Same goes for Best Buy.

Yes, they have been coming down ever so slowly. In '07 when I first started buying Blu-ray discs, you pretty much never found a new release movie under $30. Then in the Summer of '08 you would find a few new releases around $26 or so, but most were still around $30. Now, it seems you can get most new releases around $26 with a few even hitting $20 on day of release. Sometimes if you wait a few weeks there will be an even better sale. You need to shop around! I used to exclusively buy from Amazon, but now that the Brick and Mortar stores are starting to match or sometimes beat the Amazon price, I don't have to.

<$14.99 seems to be becoming the new price point for catalog releases anyway.

As it should be unless it is some super deluxe edition.

I usually go to Best Buy for everything, but I always have them price match Target or Wal-mart. That way I get the cheapest price at a B & M store and I get bonus money from my reward zone.

I am only buying those movies that I really can't wait for on release day. It makes sense to wait a while to get much better deals.

It's encouraging to see some catalog titles dropping to prices such as $24.99, $19.99 and in the new Warner titles at $16.99 list. That should help boast the catalog titles but new release titles still need to fall near the $30 list price.
