Casino Royale / Spiderman 3 - Argentina Steelbook - Blu-ray Forum

I'll premise this with: take this with a big grain of salt. I got a response to my email from the guy that I've been talking to about the King Kong Steelbook. He just mentioned that they are in negotiations over a Casino Royale 3-disc Collector's Edition Steelbook and a Spiderman 3 Steelbook. This all came from me asking him about what specific titles are in the pipeline.

Now gathering from this and earlier conversations, I believe that his deal is with Sony in Argentina. He had mentioned earlier that it is Sony who distributes and prints Universal titles in the Southern Cone so this would be in line with that. Didn't get any more details beyond that and I know this doesn't give much to go by, but didn't want to hold back on you guys as far as the information I get from Argentina. I will continue to exchange emails and provide any new details that I get.

BTW, nothing new on the King Kong front.

i would not post anything this company is offering until its verified(pictures or something), Its all very sketchy based on what I read about KK. Is this guy producing them himself? If so they arent true steelbooks, they are this guys tin can collection

I just dont think a bunch of threads should be started based on this baseless(which right now it is) information/email communication

He know of SteelBook and SteelBook.com ... so I dont think he would produce the metal ... it may be more like, order some cases, get the discs from his other hook up, shrink wrap ... sell. Who knows.

Ive heard nothing back except the "will get back to you emails" which means they dont have any at the moment in my book when earlier I was told they did ... even told "Peter Pan" (the live action) ...

Just have to wait and see.

You can bring it down jw; I just wanted to pass on the information that I got. If anything solid actually comes out it can just be started again.

Totally agree, Without pictures.., he has nothing to back his facts. Why can't the contact in Argentina just send some pictures of KK or any of the new so called possibilites ( Casino Royale or Spiderman 3 steelbooks).

no you are fine, I just wouldnt post everything he/she is claiming to be released until they have pics. I do know the cases are made and shipped elsewhere empty so its highly possible he is doing what he says but they do that in quantities of 4k+ and I am not sure the cost associated with repackaging the, shipping the empty steels from Canada to there and back out...i dunno, alot of whats happening doesnt make sense and makes me wonder is its shady or bootleg...I would hate to get a good steel and a bootleg disc

hmm ... you do make good points. I guess right now he can hide behind the fact that these steelbooks have not been released so he does not have actual photos. One steelbook that he mention was released, but is now OOP is the Iron Man steelbook so I'm going to see if he kept any pictures of that one to see what we're dealing with. At this point I guess I'm only wasting time (and that long call to Argentina

) ... but we'll see.

The company definatelty has has pictures that differentiate from amray to steel. If you click on the steelbook collection link it shows you a dvd steelbook version of American Gangster, but then shows you a generic picture of the dvd steel of Indiana Jones and Kin Kong blu ray. So even though the stock is there the pics are not.
I know Amazon substitutes pics all the time so it really just comes down to this site building it's reputation and customer's trust. Great info if it really comes
