Default Kill Bill/Sin City Combo Pack?

Amazon.com has a preorder for a combo pack featuring both Kill Bill movies and Sin City. Has anyone else heard any details on this?

At $73.99 for all three, I think you can do better even from a B&M store on a sale week.

For the record, Kill Bill, Vols. 1 & 2 are really must-have BDs!

I would just imagine it is the already released versions of all the movies just boxed together since they are all from the same company. Shouldn't be much new here, but that's just my guess?

Yeah, you're probably right.

As an owner of all three of these movies, I was just a bit worried that I might be missing on a newer, "specialer edition", if you will.

I doubt that they will. Just like with some of the other bundles and two-packs Amazon has put out before, I think they'll just be the same old discs shrink-wrapped together. They might put a box or a sleeve around them, but I doubt that any new editions will be made.

Still a good deal for anybody who doesn't have these three titles yet.

something has to be up for it to retail for over $100....and be on sale for $73...

even if it's the Whole Bloody Affair....there has to be more that it warrants that much of a higher price...

It's not. That would be a Weinstein release.

This is just the 3 movies packaged together.

when Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 first came out on Blu, I ordered them from Amazon as as some limited edition offer for both for $39.99 and they weren't a box set. Just both Blu-Rays shrinkwraped together, so i'm guessing it'll be the same but just with Sin City.

It's not. Let's do some math.

The MSRP of Kill Bill is 34.95
The MSRP of Kill Bill 2 is 34.95
The MSRP of Sin City is 35.95

Total them up and it's about $106, the same as the MSRP of the bundle.

They are simply packaging/shrink-wrapping them together. There are no new features or anything else that owners of the current discs should care about.

Again, nothing to see here folks.....

yeah, but I've seen them for 19.99 and 24.99 each....not on sale...

...that makes no sense to put a 3-pack at the same exact price as they are individually...

and I have seen all 3 today for 19.99(Kill Bill 1 & 2) and 24.99 (Sin City)

that's 8 bucks less than the 3-pack which is supposed to be cheaper than the movies would be individually...plus this was in-store...not Amazon...

Again, the MSRP of the bundle is exactly the same as the total MSRP of all three discs, appx $106.

You are comparing sale prices. Yes, of course you can regularly find the Kill Bills and Sin City for less than the MSRP, and I wouldn't be surprised if the sale price of the bundle decreases on Amazon as the release date nears.

Again, it only exists so that people can buy all three in one shrinkwrapped package. Why they don't discount it further to encourage people to buy the bundle is anyone's guess....

Suggest retail price and in store price can differ depending on the discount the store gives.

For example...Lionsgate's older catalog titles have $19.99 MSRPs. Most stores sell them for $14.99. However, Wal-Mart sells them for $10 while Best Buy normally carries them for $19.99.

In this case, the retail pries for Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2 are $34.99 each, normally for sale at places for around $24.99 to $29.99 but some stores can add a bigger discount if they want. Sin City retails for $35.99 and again, stores can add bigger discounts if they want.

In this case...

There is nothing that will be altered, changed, or added since...

A) Quentin Tarintino is still working on Inglourious Basterds and has yet to revisit Kill Bill for the "The Whole Bloody Affair."

B) Disney owns the rights to the Miramax Film's version of the Kill Bill films. The Weinstein Company owns the rights to "The Whole Bloody Affair" film.

C) Robert Rodriguez is currently working on two projects right now including the fan demanded Machete.

D) Sin City has a complete special edition on DVD and Blu-ray Disc. There is nothing that can be added to make this any better. The BD offers 1080p widsccreen video for both versions, DTS-HD MA audio for both versions, a Cine-Explore picture-in-picture track & interactive comic book BD exclusives, and all the features from the DVD.

But hey, order it anyway if you think its going to include "new" special features. I'm sure Disney is going to produce these without any participation from any of the major talent involved in the production of the films. It will be just like the Bill & Ted retrospective where both Keanu Reeves and George Carlin are only seen and heard in film clips.

the price I saw in store was not a sale price....it was the sticker they put on each movie...

every bundle I've ever seen is cheaper than the movies individually...

even the spider-man trilogy was $60....but individually, they come to $90 total or more..

The sticker you saw in store was for what the store was selling it for, aka the sale price. That doesn't mean it was "on sale" that week. This is more commonly known as the street price, or what a disc "streets" for - the price you actually pay at retail.

The MSRP is the "suggested price" of the disc, which is what is used to determine what the street price will be at the retail level. Hardly anyone, except lame retailers like FYE, actually price any discs at the MSRP.

FYI - The Spiderman trilogy blu-ray box set has an MSRP of $90. There are no individual releases of all three films, so I'm not sure what you are using for a basis there.

I think you just don't understand how MSRP and retail pricing works.

ahaha I used to be in retail...I know how it works..

I went to a store and the price that they have these 3 movies for....no matter when you go in there is 19.99 and 24.99...

there is no higher price for it...that is the MSRP at Sears and Movie Stop that I saw today...

Guy, I don't know how to further explain it to you. Those are not MSRPs. Those are street prices at each store.

You do not get it, and frankly I don't have the energy to try to explain it again.

The MSRP (aka list price) of the bundled 3-pack is the same as the 3 movies individually. The only difference is that the 3 movies are shrinkwrapped together. That's all anyone needs to know.

Why is the MSRP of the bundle not lower? I can't answer that - it would make sense to offer a more substantial discount when buying all three.
