Default Samsung LN40A500, LN40A530 Calibration

I just picked up the Samsung LN40A500 tv last night from Best Buy for $799 and was looking to see what others may have for their settings on this tv.

Thanks,
Anthony

Copying settings is NOT calibration. All that such foolishness will get you is a TV picture that might look a little like someone else's TV (which you have likely never seen). Then again, it might not look anything at all like theirs. How do you know your viewing environment conditions will be identical? Will you also insist that they used the same DVD player that had its picture options menu set the same as yours? Some basic "picture modes" may be superior on certain displays. These can be used in common for better performance, but actual picture adjustment values can vary significantly.

usually most samsungs settings will be in a similar range... although MoPe is absolutly correct, adjusting the setting and calibrating your TV, you want to get as close to the white balance as possible which is like 6100 kelvin (but you would need a ISF calibration person to do that) otherwise you just need to adjust using your eye or go buy a digital Video Essentials Disc, can be found in the blu-ray section at BB, and that would be the least expensive option and more accurate then your eye.

Here are the settings that I am using on both of my Samsungs, you could use them as a guide, but they may need to be tweeked as stated before...

40" 32"
Mode Movie movie
contrast 95 95
birghtness 46 50
Sharpness 5 15
Color 47 32
backlight 5 5
